How can I go to Heaven?
Realize you've sinned (done wrong)
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Know that God loves you so much that He gave His only Son as the payment for your sins
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Because the payment for sin is death, the only way we can go to Heaven (eternal life) is to accept the gift from God of Jesus' payment.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Believe, that's all!
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
All you have to do is believe, and tell God that you accept Jesus' payment.
Sample prayer:
"Dear God,
I know I have sinned. Thank You for sending Jesus to die to pay for my sins. I accept His payment. Please forgive my sins and help me to live for You. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
Of course you don't have to say these exact words - it's the heart attitude, the belief, that matters most. Just let God know in your own way that you believe and accept Him.
Can I lose my salvation? Do I need to get saved again?
Now that I'm saved, what if I sin?
Sin is unfortunately a part of life as humans.
We will doubtless sin despite our best efforts to the contrary. However, God has told us in the Bible that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) and that if we confess our sins, He will forgive (I John 1:9). Sin will break fellowship with God, until we confess to Him. But He gladly forgives!
Now that I'm saved, what do I do now?
